Safety in all activities can only be ensured if all employees take an active interest in the safety of the activity or work they are doing and follow agreed safe methods of work. Every individual in the Company has a legal and moral responsibility for the safety of themselves, the people they work with and the public that could be affected by their work. Health & Safety Management Manual describes the elements of the Health & Safety Management System designed around the requirements of OHSAS 18001:2007. It is recognized that documenting the OH&S management system is only the first step towards fully implementing its requirements. For this reason the Safety Management Representative will brief all new and existing personnel on the requirements of the OH&S Management System and ensure full compliance. OHSAS 18001 Manual and General Policy Statement now include the whole new organization as it continues to develop documented arrangements. The effectiveness of the implementation is measured through ongoing internal audits and inspection of the OH&S management system requirements. Where implementation is deemed inadequate, steps are taken to resolve the situation in a timely manner.
OHSAS 18001 Manual describes the OH&S Management System, delineates authorities, inter relationships and responsibilities of the personnel responsible for performing within system. The effective OHS Manual should cover procedures, instruction and reference for the activities comprising the health and safety management system to ensure compliance to the necessary requirements of the standard.
OHSAS 18001 Manual is used internally to guide the company's employees through the various requirements of the standard that must be met and maintained in order to ensure Occupational Health and Safety stewardship, customer satisfaction, continual improvement and provide the necessary instruction that create an empowered workforce. This Manual used externally to introduce health and safety management system to customers and other external Organizations and Individuals.
